Alone - Just my Freedom and me
(Lyrics by Abigayle 1977)
At
last I've reached my mountain top;
the
place I've yearned to be....
With
the pain and sorrow far behind,
my eyes at last can see.
I
see the greed and jealous ways
of
people far below.
I
see them living from day to day,
and I wonder, "do they know?"
Can they imagine...how I=m feeling,
sitting
on my perch so high?
Does
anybody share my dream,
or
was I meant to fly....
alone,
untouched by those below,
no
longer asking why....
The
soothing peace of knowledge gained;
at
last I've learned to fly!
I
know the cost of freedom now...
removed
from life=s
cruel game;
intolerance
for those who don=t,
and
no one else to blame.
My
lofty but lonely position in life
is
just where I wanted to be.
But now that I=m here....My fate becomes clear...
ALONE - JUST MY FREEDOM AND ME.
