The Lord is With me

I travel alone...

down roads where no one knows

who I am - or where I might be going.

But the Lord is with me.

I sleep alone...

in a bed with no loving arms to keep me warm

when the night is cold and empty.

But the Lord is with me.

I eat alone...

a meal shared with no one but myself

 to smile and know its pleasure.

But the Lord is with me.

I cry alone...

with no one who cares to dry my tears

or pat my back in tender sympathy.

But the Lord is with me.

And so I thank thee, Lord....

from the bottom of this humble heart

for my most valuable possession;

My faith in thee.

For with that one great gift,

the Holy Spirit shines deep within my soul...

and I shall NEVER be alone!

For the Lord is with me.
