I love the Holidays! This year is especially nice because I have no immediate plans for travel and can enjoy just "being". I'm still in Parker, Arizona because my friends Dick and Dottie offered me a nice lot (with full hookups for my RV), to park "Faith" on for as long as I like. I has a nice desert view and it stands alone... meaning I'm not at anyone's house. They call it their "toy barn" because it's where they store their boat and other assorted toys.
Ray and Judy, my other Parker friends, have given me one of their extra cars to use while I'm here, so I even have transportation. In other words, things couldn't be better. There is absolutely zero pressure and I can plan each day as it happens. I get up in the morning and decide whether I want to write or practice my music. Or perhaps I might visit with a friend or even read a book. Sometimes I go flying with Ray (I love the little Piper Cub) or just walk on the shore of the Colorado River. I am so very fortunate. I have food in the cupboard, clothes to wear and a comfortable bed. I am truly RICH in every way but money.
It sure is hard for me to imagine feeling this way when I now have fewer possessions and less money than I've EVER had during my entire adult life. Before I left Gold Beach, I seldom found myself with only one car...and most of my houses have been closer to 3000 or 4000 square feet than the 33 feet I now live in. And yet...I feel rich. Very interesting.
I've been doing a few local performances here in Parker and am learning to use the 6 track recorder I got for my birthday. The week before Christmas, I'll be appearing at one of the local churches and then a different one on Christmas Eve. I even did a couple of readings on the local Christian Broadcast Radio Station. It was great fun and I was truly surprised at how well it turned out. (They gave me a copy of the tape.) It won't be long before I'll be back on the road, so I'd better enjoy this low-pressure existence while I can.
Since not much is happening, this entry will be very short...(lucky you)... but I would like to share a little something I wrote one night while enjoying the desert night sky and thinking about Christmas. Hope you enjoy it.
Merry Christmas to all!

I
stand in awe that the "King of all Kings", our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, loves us so much that he suffered and died that we
might be saved.
Surely, there is no greater love!
I
stand amazed that all we have to do is admit our sins and
ask our Father in Heaven, in humble sincerity, to forgive us and all
shall be forgiven.
Surely,
there is no greater gift!
I stand in wonder at his Promise that if we truly love the Lord and obey His commandments, we shall be blessed with eternal life and joy beyond our earthly comprehension.
Surely, there is no greater miracle!
Thank you, Jesus
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
