“Alone I gaze at yesterday – what might have been, I cannot say.

But now is now, so come what may…it matters what I do today!”  (Abigayle)

A new year…and where does the time go?  Of course I had to work last night (New Year’s Eve), but as I walked home afterward, I was treated to an absolutely awesome fireworks display, (courtesy of the casino).  When I got to my RV, the sky was still exploding with color so I sat down at the picnic table on my patio and continued to watch.  What a wonderful way to celebrate the New Year; just sitting there all alone at my little picnic table watching the beautiful desert sky turn into a cascade of colors.  It was so peaceful and I was so content.  I just let my mind wander…  remembering and wondering… and so very thankful for my life.

It will be time to move on again soon.  My new computer, with all the accessories, is now set up in my RV and I am slowly learning to use it.  I call my son on the telephone every time I have a problem and he talks me patiently through it.  I really hate being so ignorant but computer technology is a whole new world to me and I have a lot to learn.  If I’m going to design my own website (and share my poetry with the world), it will take MANY more hours of practice (and learning), which means I’ll need money to live on while I do that.   I’ll also need a telephone line for Internet access, as well as a place to park, and that means even more money.  So… I’ve decided to work a little while longer and save up a small nest egg before starting the next leg of my journey.

I’ve been parked here in Parker (boy, that has a ring to it...) for so long now, I have to wonder whether Lucky will even start when it’s time to leave.  I’ll probably need a tune up and oil change at the very least and I should have the radiator flushed and maybe even some new batteries.  Gosh, the list just keeps getting longer and longer.

Oh well, I couldn’t have found a nicer place to be.  It was 80 degrees outside today and it hasn’t rained even ONCE since I got here.  When I look out my window, I see the peaceful blue water of the Colorado River drifting by and a cascade of flowers surrounding my patio.  What more could I want?

Adios amigos!   (see picture below)

Enjoying the sunshine on my patio in Parker.  Aren't the flowers beautiful?
